The company was founded by Theresa, a passionate aesthete, with a talent for creating environments that inspire happiness and well-being. She has a natural and well-honed eye for design and for ‘beautiful things’. She allows creativity to flow and in doing so replenishes the spirit of spaces we live in.
The meaning of ‘Omana’
‘Omana’ in Sanskrit means ‘Woman, Giver of Life’.
With such powerful meaning and strong reference to the magical country of ‘Oman’, Theresa, Founder and Creative Director, was inspired to call her business Studio Omana.
She began to understand the significance of living beautifully at an early age. Surrounded by creative women in her family, she absorbed their profound love and care for design.
Studio Omana advocates for an ensemble of pieces, elements, narratives coming together to create something beautiful, personal and joyful.
Where it all started
When young, Theresa’s grandmother regularly invited women from the village to her home in Austria for afternoon coffee parties.
Theresa played an important role in helping her grandmother prepare for these events. Her main responsibility was laying the table and being involved in choosing the appropriate setting style.
Her grandmother paid great attention to every detail: a neatly ironed tablecloth, perfectly polished cutlery, shiny glasses and flower arrangements.
Such special moments are an indelible memory of happy moments and joyful stories, that Theresa constantly goes back to for inspiration and creativity.
Theresa Lunardon-Monteiro
Theresa is the Founder and Creative Director of Studio Omana.
Having lived and worked in Europe, Asia and the Middle East for over 20 years, her creations and ways of styling are deeply influenced by the visual surroundings in which she has lived and developed a deep sense of aesthetic.
She enjoys working with both contemporary and classic design ideas and appreciates incorporating artisanal pieces from around the world.
Theresa’s inspiration comes from nature, art, textures, colours, sights and smells, and the tiny details that she encounters gracefully.
During her career, she curated homes and corporate environments, bringing beauty and heartfulness.
Theresa believes that carefully considered details enrich our experiences and empower our lives. She loves sharing her philosophy and helping her clients achieve their own spatial harmony.

Studio Omana is based in Muscat, Oman, and operates across the GCC.
